Ray Walters runs Walters Training on his own and is an NPORS plant machinery assessor.
Before becoming an assessor, Ray spent over 20 years operating plant in construction, groundworks, waste and recycling, scrap metal and general industry.
Ray takes your call and carries out the assessment himself, so you deal with the same person from booking through to the on-site visit.

Can the test be done on my own site?
Yes. Ray carries out NPORS assessments at your premises, on your own machines. If you are booking training as well, the best route depends on the category and your experience. Call Ray to talk through novice courses and experienced worker tests for the category you need.
Does Ray travel from Northampton?
Yes. Ray is based in Northampton on the M1 in the middle of England and travels to sites anywhere in the UK. Call with the category and the site location.
Is NPORS the same as CPCS?
No. NPORS and CPCS are different schemes. Walters Training carries out NPORS assessments. If your site or client specifies a scheme, check that requirement before booking.
What is the difference between a novice course and an experienced worker test?
An experienced worker test is for operators who already have relevant practical experience and can demonstrate the required operating skills without completing a novice training course. A novice course covers training and testing for the category. After passing, a candidate receives the appropriate NPORS card. Category requirements vary, so call Ray to check which route fits.
